These studies were designed to determine the efficacy of InterDry® used in place of the standard treatments.
Axilla Case Study 111
Patient description: 44-year-old male presented with intertrigo in his axilla, panniculus and groin folds.
Past treatment: Antifungal-steriod cream combination.
InterDry protocol: Treatment was changed from the cream to InterDry. A silicone dressing with an adhesive spray (on intact skin) was used to secure the silver fabric in place
Day 1
Painful and moist desquamation.
Outcome: Day 7
Within 24 hours, the moist desquamation was significantly improved. Completely healed within one week.
Axilla Case Study 29
Patient description: 60-year-old female with history of right sided mastectomy.
Past treatment: Nystatin powder for 2 weeks.
InterDry protocol: Apply the silver coated fabric over the affected area and leave it in place. She was allowed to remove the fabric for the duration of her shower.
Day 1
Denuded and erythematous skin and a foul odor at the right axillary fold. Patient complained of drainage, odor and pain.
Outcome: Day 7
Skin had significantly less drainage and redness. Denuded skin almost completely healed.
